Cost Controllers (Cost Accountants)
A leading hospitality group in Saudi Arabia is currently seeking experienced Cost Controllers (Cost Accountants) to join its growing team across Riyadh and Khobar. As the hospitality industry continues to expand in the Kingdom, especially within the Food & Beverage (F&B) sector, the demand for skilled financial professionals who can manage costs and maximize profitability is higher than ever.
Role Overview
The Cost Controllers (Cost Accountants) plays a vital role in ensuring financial efficiency across multiple restaurant outlets. This position focuses on monitoring operational costs, analyzing financial data, and maintaining strict compliance with internal financial policies. By identifying cost-saving opportunities and reducing waste, Cost Controllers directly contribute to the overall success and sustainability of F&B operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Management
Monitor and analyze food, beverage, and packaging expenses across all outlets. Identify cost variances and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
2. Inventory Control
Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system records. Ensure proper inventory management practices are followed to minimize discrepancies and losses.
3. Menu & Recipe Costing
Work closely with Executive Chefs to calculate recipe and menu costs. Provide insights on pricing strategies to ensure profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
4. Financial Reporting
Prepare detailed monthly cost reports, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and profitability assessments for each outlet. Deliver actionable insights to management for decision-making.
5. Compliance & Regulations
Maintain accurate financial records in line with Saudi regulations, including Zakat and VAT requirements. Ensure all accounting practices meet local compliance standards.
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in F&B cost control within hotels or restaurant chains
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP and POS systems such as Oracle Hospitality, MICROS, or Odoo, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Certification: A valid Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) certification is often required for accounting roles in KSA
