Job Summary
The Laundry Runner / Service Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. The role involves handling hotel linens, staff uniforms, and guest laundry while ensuring all laundry equipment and working areas are properly maintained.
Working within the laundry department, the successful candidate will help ensure smooth operations by supporting linen management, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting the team in delivering efficient laundry services.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to duty in proper uniform, maintaining a neat, professional appearance.
- Record attendance by signing in and out when starting and ending shifts.
- Prepare daily production or work records for laundry operations.
- Ensure the laundry area is properly organized and prepared for daily operations.
- Check laundry equipment regularly to confirm it is functioning properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area before the end of each shift.
- Safely shut down equipment, steam pipes, switches, and main panels when required, particularly during the last shift.
- Transfer and manage dirty uniforms through the linen room system.
- Support sustainability initiatives by reducing waste, recycling materials, and reusing resources whenever possible.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in hotel laundry operations, preferably in a property with 200 rooms or more, or experience in a large commercial laundry facility.
- Basic English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer knowledge for recording and operational tasks.
- Ability to work flexible or extended duty hours when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
